Conflicting gzip compression results

Was following this article:

And I get different results from both referenced test sites. WhatismyIP shows that compression is being used, but doesn’t have any details. Gmetrix shows most of the JS on my test site is not compressed, which mirrors the results from Google’s PageSpeed test.

Test site is www.monc.net which is running on a multisite using domain mapping. I have all the standard gzip codes in my nginx config, so not sure why about 10-15 JS files are not getting compressed.

Any tips are greatly appreciated!

I’m facing the same issues: the pages themselves (HTML) are being gzipped, but none of the static files (CSS, JS) are gzipped at all. And the main problem is that for non-wordpress sites configured in the same machine also with EasyEngine, the CSS files are perfectly gzipped…
