Hi as of now I have Mediapress as my gallery in my community site. I am changing the theme to a theme using rtMedia as standard glalery plugin. I wonder how I am going about to merge the Mediapress galleries to rtMedia?

MediaPress and rtMedia handle media in very different ways. As per my knowledge, there isn’t a straightforward way to migrate from one to the other and maintain functionality. 
Please consider hiring a professional developer to complete the migration, especially if your website has many users / media files.
